This session will highlight those tools and demonstrate how you can make use of these, easy-to-use products to create engaging, high-quality projects that both augment, supplant, or replace more traditional methods of content delivery. 1:30–3:30 Empowering Learning with PDF and Adobe Acrobat 9
Adobe Acrobat 9 allows you to rethink the term “document.” With PDF—the Portable Document Format—you have been able to collect a variety of document types together and deliver a complete, in-context package of information to tell your story. Whether it’s a class assignment package, an electronic dissertation, or a grant proposal, PDF is a great way to hand your content to others.
With Adobe Acrobat 9, we are changing the game. By bringing Flash technology into the PDF file format, Acrobat allows you to create a document that includes true interactivity as a way to grab your audience’s attention, hold it, and truly get your point across. Tim Plumer, Jr. has been working with and for Adobe since 1998, when he became an Applications Engineer for the creative tools team in the Northeast. In his current role as a Senior Solutions Engineer for the Education sales team, he works to place Adobe technologies into the context of the needs of Higher Education customers. One of the more versatile tools in Adobe's stable is Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional, which he promotes as an ePortfolio, a paper-saving , a data-collection, and a general document handling tool. One of his great joys is to see the ways students and teachers alike employ both PDF and Adobe Acrobat in ways he never could have dreamed. He is also an Adobe Certified Expert in Adobe Acrobat 9, Adobe Photoshop CS3, Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional 7, and Adobe Presenter 7 software, and uses those tools to support his is current passion for eLearning.
