Learn all you need to know to start using Photoshop in this 2-hour introduction to "Photoshop Essentials." You'll learn to open, crop (cut away unwanted areas), resize, and straighten your photos, all while learning image navigation (viewing) techniques and how to get around in the Photoshop workspace itself. Common problems (photos that are too dark, too light, too faded, or even too blurry) can often be fixed with some of the Photoshop tools we'll cover. Other tools and techniques allow you to easily "retouch" photos, getting rid of unwanted artifacts such as blemishes, red-eye, etc. You'll also learn how to combine multiple photos into a single image (for example, the front and annotated back of scanned archival photos), as well as add simple text captions to a photo. And of course, we'll also cover saving your finished images in the most appropriate format (and size) for printing, emailing, or posting online.
This workshop is suitable for users of nearly all relatively recent versions of Photoshop (from Photoshop CS on, including CS2 through CS6, Photoshop CC, and Photoshop CC 2014). A few of the more recent Photoshop tools we'll be using (but just a few) are only available in CS6 or later versions.
