The Microsoft 365 and Office 365 plans combine the familiar Microsoft Office desktop suite with cloud-based versions of Microsoft's next-generation communications and collaboration services (including Office for the web, Microsoft Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft SharePoint Online) to help users be productive from virtually anywhere through the Internet.

In order to help our students, faculty and staff prepare for success, we’re providing Office 365 Office software to you free of charge. You will now be able to work in the latest version of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and much more. You can install your Office 365 software on up to 5 compatible PCs and Macs, plus 5 tablets (including iPad!) as well as 5 phones. All work can be saved online in OneDrive so it can be accessed no matter which device is being used. This software makes working together easier.

 To get your Office 365 software follow these simple steps:

1. Visit the UIC Office 365 Portal.

 2. Enter your @uic.edu email address.

3. On the next page sign in with your @uic.edu email address and common password.

3. Select your language if prompted.

4. Click Install Now to begin installing.

5. Return to the Office 365 portal and click on the OneDrive block to setup your OneDrive space.

You will need your @uic.edu email address and common password to sign in. If you don’t have your login information or have trouble, contact consult@uic.edu for assistance.

 

Specifications

When you leave the University, your Office 365 subscription ends.

At expiration, the Office applications enter a reduced-functionality mode, which means documents can be viewed but it isn’t possible to edit or create new documents. In addition, online services associated with the school email address, for example Office Online and OneDrive, will no longer work.

When you leave the University, your Office 365 subscription ends. You may enroll into other consumer or commercial offers available.
