SAS Efficiencies: Kathy Kiraly, presenter

As we read larger amounts of data, we want our code to be as efficient as possible. This two-hour lecture for experienced SAS programmers will be a quick overview on different data manipulation techniques and resource cost benefits to help you choose the most appropriate methods for your data situation.
 
1:00 - 2:00pm – Session 2
State Farm Research & Development Center: A Sample of Advanced Analytic Applications: Scott Farris, presenter

This presentation will give an overview of statistical techniques and software used by State Farm. We will demonstrate a wide range of applications in several disciplines. Many of the software analytic applications were developed by the State Farm Research and Development Center on the University of Illinois campus.

Intro to Enterprise Guide (hands on training): Marilou Chanrasmi, instructor

SAS Enterprise Guide provides a SAS graphical interface that helps you exploit the power of SAS and publish dynamic results in a Microsoft Windows client application. The solution is the preferred SAS interface for business analysts, programmers, and statisticians and a key application in SAS Business Intelligence offerings.

1:30 - 3:30pm – Session 4
SAS Macro Language (hands on training): Kathy Kiraly, instructor

This two-hour hands-on workshop is an introduction to the SAS Macro Language. Learn to write SAS programs that are reusable and dynamic. We’ll create a macro variable and a basic macro program.

If you are interested in geographic information science and technology, or have been meaning to get around to using GIS software in your work or research, then GIS day at UIC, Wednesday, 11/18/09, may have something useful for you.
 
Please note that there will be events both at the UIC Daley Library, 801 S. Morgan, and at IHRP, 1747 W. Roosevelt.  Please check the web link below for times and details.
