Where should this type of installation package be installed?
On university Classroom, Lab and other shared computers, designated for students.
What license or activation method is used?
This is a Shared Device License installation. A university Adobe Enterprise ID is required. Be aware; the Adobe Sign-in window will indicate that the computer is a shared device. All students are automatically assigned a free Adobe license that in combination with this installation package type allows them access to the Adobe Platform of software on Classroom, Lab and other shared computers. The user will be asked to sign in to use the software.
The managed installation packages in this offer are configured to DISABLE the Adobe Update manager. which means that the Adobe apps installed from these packages will NOT be automatically updated. This setting also prevents non-admins from installing more Adobe apps on the computer, which they would normally have access to if you did not install this package. Only use these packages if your department or group manages update distribution via SCCM, MUNKI and Remote Update Manager (RUM).
If your department does NOT maintain regular updates for Adobe software, we HIGHLY suggest that you install the NU Self Service packages for Creative Cloud and Acrobat since Adobe programs will cease to work if they are not regularly updated. Installing a Self Service package will allow non-admins to update their Adobe programs, download and install the compatible app versions from Adobe directly and decrease IT overhead.
We do not recommend storing installation packages.
Students and student employees should NEVER have access to installation packages.
Please review the System Requirements before installing this software.ADOBE PRODUCTS ARE PROVIDED THROUGH THE ADOBE CONSORTIUM AT NO COST TO SELECT INDIVIDUALS. CONSORTIUM FUNDING IS OBTAINED FROM DEPARTMENT, COLLEGE AND CAMPUS CONTRIBUTIONS ACROSS THE ENTIRE UNIVERSITY.
