Generative artificial intelligence (AI) can enhance creativity, productivity, and communication by supporting tasks such as drafting emails, coding, and generating content. As generative AI becomes more prevalent, the university recognizes its transformative potential while affirming our commitment to its responsible and ethical use. While offering significant opportunities for efficiency and innovation, generative AI also carries certain risks.
Potential Risks of Generative AI
· May not adhere to the ethical, professional, or intellectual property standards expected of university researchers and educators
· May fail to comply with laws and regulations governing data and content use
· Often lacks transparency regarding what data is collected, processed, stored, and shared
· Can produce false, misleading, or inaccurate content
· May collect personal information during interactive or conversational use
· May require new or updated agreements for lawful and appropriate use
