This is a Server+CAL license model. A license is required for an installed instance of SQL Server. In addition, SQL Server Client Access Licenses (CALs) are required to access this Server and must be purchased separately. They are not included in the Campus-wide licensing and must be purchased for either each user or each device that obtains data from the SQL Server. For instance, a person accessing a website which displays data that came from a SQL Server would require a CAL.

This offer contains versions 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022, 2025 and is Microsoft part number 228-04437.

Student employees may not install this software, may not be given product keys, and may not use the software on a personal computer. A staff member should install the software on a University of Illinois owned computer for the student employee's use.
