SIMULIA Suite ABAQUS CAE for Research License (Expires 06/30/2026)

A license is required for each computer you wish to install Abaqus on, for use by the primary user. As a convenience we will allow 2 computers to be registered however only one can be in use at a time. Sharing the license among several users is not allowed.

This is an annual subscription license that expires June 30, 2025.

This software is the property of the Univeristy of Illinois and you have the right to use this software as long as you maintain staus as faculty, staff, or student at the University of Illinois.

You must use version release 2022 or newer for compatibility with the new license service.

If you already have the Abaqus software installed please review these instructions to reconfigure the license settings on your existing installation.

 

ABAQUS is used for stress, heat transfer, and other types of analysis in mechanical, structural, civil, biomedical, and related engineering applications.

    • Abaqus Research licenses has the same functionality as commercial licenses. They can be used for teaching or academic research.

    Research licenses may also be used for instructional teaching. Results from work done with research licenses must reference Abaqus and be made publicly available. A network connection is required. This offer contains installers for versions 2023, 2024 and 2025

    The SIMULIA Learning Community contains video tutorials. Customers will first have to create an ID and Password by following the simple directions.

    Abaqus Student Edition is available to download for free for academic students, professors and researchers from here.

    * Linux platform notes:

        The Abaqus CAD Associative Interfaces for CATIA v5, Pro/ENGINEER, and Solidworks are not supported on the Linux platform.
        For Haswell and newer processors a kernel update may be required. Please see bug number BR10000165399.
        Abaqus/CAE users may see this warning on startup: "/usr/lib64/libjpeg.so.62: no version information available". This message can safely be ignored
