What Is an Adobe Project?

Adobe Projects are organization-owned shared workspaces for teams that regularly collaborate on multiple related Adobe assets.

A Project provides a common membership and permission structure for files, Libraries, Brands, templates, and other supported Adobe content. Projects remain part of the University's Adobe business storage rather than belonging to an individual user.

You do not need an Adobe Project simply to share a file or collaborate with another Adobe user. Individual Adobe files, cloud documents, and Creative Cloud Libraries can be shared directly without creating a Project.

When should I request one?

Good fit

  • Departmental communications workspace
  • Long-running team creative work
  • Shared institutional Brand resources
  • Multiple related assets used by the same group
  • Work that should remain with the University when individual team members leave

Probably don't need one

  • Sharing one Photoshop/Illustrator/Express document
  • Working with classmates on a single assignment
  • Sharing reusable creative assets with several people
  • Sending someone a PDF for review
  • Organizing your own Adobe files

Adobe Projects are University-owned organizational storage. Content placed in a Project should be considered institutional content rather than an individual's personal Adobe workspace.

Students should not use Adobe Projects as the primary location for personal portfolio work or other content they expect to retain after leaving the University.
